OUR 7-STEP WEB DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT PROCESS

How we design and develop effective, results-driven websites.

Step 1. Analysis 

The first phase of the design and development process is analysis. This is where we gather information and build a foundation for the rest of the project. During this phase learn about the website’s goals, purpose, and its target audience.

Step 2. Planning

During the second phase, we begin planning. This helps us build a relevant sitemap, understand the website’s structure, and generate a consensus on the technologies that we will need to use to get the job done effectively.

Step 3. Design

After we have all the information necessary to create the site, we begin phase 3, design. During this phase, we creat wireframe models and prototypes in applications like Sketch and Adobe XD. We then create a visual style by incorporating brand identity components such as web fonts, colors, and graphics. We then focus on the overall user interface and user experience of the site before we begin phase 4.

Step 4. Content

During phase 4, we generate all the content necessary for the site. This includes copy, graphics, and videos that will be used throughout the site to create a positive user experience, develop website brand identity, and generate a higher number of conversions. Additionally, during this step, we lay a solid foundation for the site’s search engine optimization potential.

Step 5. Development

After we have designed the site, we begin development. During this phase of the process, we use HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, PHP, and SQL to develop a well-coded, W3C-compliant website. This is the phase that we take our designs and wireframes and create a fully-responsive and mobile-friendly website.

Step 6. Testing

During phase 6, we begin testing the site. This includes performance analysis, technical testing, a brower compatibility test and checking for bugs or possible entry-points for malicious attacks (hacking). We then ask ourselves if the website truly fulfills the purpose we decided upon in phase 1.

Step 7. Deployment

During the final phase of building the website we begin deployment of the site. During this phase, we launch the newly built website, test for further bugs, implement channels to monitor website traffic and important marketing data, and, if you’d like, continue to maintain and update the site moving forward.

Before we begin on your site, we research common-use cases, user site expectations, and develop our own sitemap and flow map. We use industry-standard design tools including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Experience Design, and Sketch to prototype and wireframe your site, and after your design is created, we utilize the latest front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS3, and jQuery to develop your professionally coded, easy-to-maintain website. If desired, we then structure a sturdy backend database that can store data for your new site.
